Midterms!!!

I'm a freshman and this is the first time I have taken midterms before. Its in like a week. I'm stressing majorly. I'm not bad with studying though, but just the fact that its worth 10% of my final year grade scares me. Especially---------Biology! arghh. im not sure what the point of this thread. Me venting. If u have any advice though please and thank you.

10%? Wow, for us it's 30 :s
Don't worry. You'll get through. Just study like it's any normal test, make sure you know everything. Just take it easy, study, do as well as you can, and don't stress. Think about worst case scenarios - If you're getting an A in the class so far, you can totally flunk the midterm and still get a B.
Once, I was really freaking out about my World Culture final, because it was on two units, and I had no idea what was going on (I hadn't really payed attention in class or studied for a single test), and i was PANICKING. I get to class, and the test is HORRIBLY easy, and the teacher decided to let us have 30 minutes open book!

yeah mine is 10% too which isnt too much. You could get an 80 and your Final average would only drop 2 points

Don't worry. 10% is nothing.

Don't worry, last year I freaked out about midterms, but it really is not a big deal. Just study well, get enough sleep, and you'll be fine.

Ok thanks guys. I feel a little better. Biology will be the death of me though.

Mine is 30% too. =/

Study study study... then take the SAT II on it because you know it all!
Eh, yeah, I'm being weird.
Just study as you usually do, make some notes, look over review questions, old tests and such. Bio's not so bad. Although, I can definately see not wanting to take a midterm on it - all that krebs cycle stuff doesn't really stay in my head. Just think, though, you have physics and chemestry to look forward to!
I'm not much help, am I? Good luck with everything, though.

We don't have midterms...and there are no final exam exemotions this year except for seniors, who must have at least a 95 average in a class with no grade lower than a 93 (an A). That policy applied to everyone in the past, but they changed it for this year. I'll only need to take three finals, though (trig., psychology, and health), because I have four AP classes, and this is the one exception for non-seniors. You are exempt if you take the AP exam. Last year, finals counted for 1/5 our final grade, yet they changed that to 1/9 for this year (of course, last year's scores don't change)...

Wow, for us it's the opposite. Everyone has to take midterms. For finals, everyone has to take them, EXCEPT seniors, if they have over a C average in the class.
