Midwest student taking the SAT, red flags?

My potential colleges in order of preference, are:
1. University of Washington (Seattle)
2. University of California (Berkekley)
3. University of Minnesota (Twin Cities)
4. University of Oregon (Eugene)
5. Western Washington University (Bellingham)
6. Lewis and Clark College (Portland)
7. Evergreen State University (Olympia)
8. Reed College (Portland)

I took the SAT a couple days ago. Will adcoms wonder why I didn't take the ACT as that is a midwest test? I'm really not planning to take the ACT anyways, do to horrid scores on practice tests.

No. You’re overthinking this. If nothing else, it’s accepted that people will go with the test they are better at.

I am assuming you are a junior. If you score well on the SAT (by well I mean good enough for the colleges you list), you will have no reason to take the ACT unless you reside and go to school in Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Colorado, Michigan or Wyoming where high school students are required to take the ACT.

Also in the midwest. The only kids who take the SAT around here are those applying to east coast or west coast schools. It should not be a red flag.

If you have already taken the ACT then you can compare which score is more favorable. Some students do better on one test over the other.
