Anyone know any good business universities in the Midwest that I could possibly look into?

Kelly School of Business at Indiana is probably the best known in the midwest. UW-Madison also has an up and coming business school, although you can't get admitted until after your sophmore year.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure Michigan (Ross) has it beat... in fact, Ross is one of the best in the country.

alrite thanks

Northwestern has a business economics major...Michigan also has a great business program...so does Notre Dame and Indiana.

NU doesn't have a bus economics major. It just has economics. It has a minor called "Business Institutes."

Indiana is just as well known as Ross.

BusinessWeek rated Notre Dame's business school #3, but that's all I know.

thanks to everyone who has responded so far~

"Indiana is just as well known as Ross."

I don't know about that. Even in Kelley's strongest field - fiance, Ross is better. Not saying Marketing, Management, etc.

Indiana is in a lower level comparing to Ross, period. Although people are trying to get Kelley kinda hot recently. I know Kelley is good, but just not as good as Ross.

In midwest, there are NU econ, Chicago econ, Ross and Mendoza up there. Indiana just can't be the best in midwest.

Nearly all of the Big 10 (11) schools have good business schools. All are ranked high in US News and in Business week. Here are combined rankings of the two most trusted when it comes to B-School rankings, you could check it out.

I know it's not as good, but it's not as far as you think ;)

Kelley is definitely a notch or two below Ross... you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise.

WUSTL - Olin.

There's a difference between prestige in the Midwest and overall prestige of a school that just happens to be in the Midwest. If you're talking about the first category, then I would agree that Kelly (Indiana) is not far at all from places like Kellogg, Chicago, etc.

But if you're talking about overall prestige of business schools that just happen to be in the Midwest, then you are basically left with Chicago and Kellogg. They are two of the best MBA programs in the world. It's amazing that they're stuck in the Midwest, giving the entire region some much-needed credence.

As for undergraduate business programs in the Midwest, WashU is probably the most prestigious (if only by default). And before you knock my focus on "prestige"........come on. You're talking about a business degree here.

what's wrong with undergraduate business degrees????????

Regardless of prestige, when I visitted there WUSTL's school of business impressed me a lot. They offer students the chance to start their own company, getting directly involved in sales, management...plus there are great internship oppurtunities. I think it's underrated, simply because it doesn't have enough students/"famous" faculty.

Olin is good too. However, both Olin and Kelly are in the lower level comparing to Ross undergrad business- interms of selectivity and job placment.

There are several ug business schools in the midwest as good or better than WashU. UM, IU, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minn., ND at least.

There is nothing wrong with an ug business degree from a good school. Most are very competitive to get into and hard work. Much harder than most liberal arts programs.

Kelley is definitely a notch or two below Ross... you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise.

I must be--You seem to think they are worlds apart. I'd have to think you're kidding yourself.
