Midwest visits: Is this reasonable?

Meredes, I haven't even started thinking about hotels yet - want to wait and see if all of the colleges can accomodate our schedule. We will be leaving on a Saturday so Milwaukee is looking better and better - I'll have to check if there are any direct flights to San Diego though.

I'm used to the tolls since I grew up in New York but my husband (a Calif. native) is just like your dad - he goes bonkers when we are back east and he is faced with tolls.

NJRes - It seems to me that most parents love Earlham but their kids differ. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that my daughter will like it --- to me, it is a very good fit for her but we shall see. She asked them to arrange a visit with someone in the equestrian/barn program and that may be a capper for her if they follow through.

Carolyn - If you were one day later, I would try and hook up with you in Beloit! Oh well... I definitely agree with what everyone says about the traffic in and around Chicago, especially if you are not familiar with it. Milwaukee is very easy to fly in and out of. You might also want to check on flights out of Madison. You won't get direct, but sometimes the prices are actually better than Milwaukee.

Shennie,
Since Lewis & Clark is a strong number one on my daughter's list, we may at some point meet each other there. :)

Carolyn, no luck in pitching St. Olaf, I see...oh well, if she has decided on the quirky persona, it's perhaps a good thing. D. has a pal heading to Beloit next fall. She's quirky!

No, St. Olaf is still on the list of possibilities....at least in MY mind. (LOL!). But, unfortunately, she is sticking with the quirky persona for the moment. :)
