Midyear/Final School Report?

<p>I'm confused... I'm applying early decision to a college and I see that my counselor has to fill out a Midyear/Final School Report.</p>

<p>I know this is probably a stupid question, but how can they fill out a Final, let alone a Midyear, report when the ED deadline is Nov 1!? Do they submit it after the application process when the time is appropriate? Is it kind of like a way of colleges making sure you are staying on track?</p>
