Hi, I’m a rising senior in high school and had a question about beginning college during the middle of the year. Basically, my situation is that I need to leave my house ASAP, and so I am graduating at semester. My original plan was either to live with my dad in a different state and work, or start college immediately during the Spring. My questions are essentially:

Will most colleges even let me start mid-year as a Freshman?

Is it a bad idea to start halfway through the year (I’ll have missed freshman orientation, I’ll not know anyone in the area but they will already have relationships, I’ll not know where everything is [Seattle metropolitan], and everything will be staggered (I won’t be a sophomore until the next year’s spring)?

I’d prefer to start college ASAP, but I don’t want to do so if it will put me at a serious social/educational disadvantage.

There are many schools such as Middlebury that have Feb admits, meaning that a good portion of the class start in Februray, but usually you’d still have to apply during regular application season (last year) so I don’t know if you could get in this year.

So, I CAN actually attend college in the spring of next year if I submit everything before December 15th (I would greatly appreciate someone looking over that page and ensuring I understand it correctly). Thanks!
