Midyear Report/Additional Info

Hey. I just got my report card for 1st semester, and I'm considering sending a letter for a drop in grade for my A.P. US Govt class. I wanted to know whether I really should, or it's not a big deal. I have a reason for it; i went to the All-State music trip which caused me to miss 2 days worth of work and i couldnt study for an exam the following week and did bad cause of that one test. Ever since, I worked hard to bring my grade up to what I have now. Should I send this letter? I wrote that by no means did i "slack off" and I really didn't. Wow senior year really turned out to be harder than I thought! This is what I have so far for the 2 quarters in this semester. I tried to stay consistent, if not better, and this is my result. What do you think? Thanks a lot.

P.S.- Do you think it's late to send additional info? I'm waiting for this one competition result 2morrow and I'll probably add that and send the info to colleges.

1ST SEMESTER GRADES:
-AP English Literature: B+ / B+
-AP US Govt and Politics: A / B*(this is the one i'm worried about)
-AP Microeconomics: A / A
-AP Calculus AB: A+ / A+
-AP Physics B: A / A
-AP Spanish Language: A / A
-Chamber Orchestra: A+ / A+
-Lifetime Sports: A+ / A+
-Advanced Research: A+ / A+

If in doubt, call and ask. They don't ever have to know your name, and they're very helpful on the phone.

no, don't send a letter, having a B is not going to be a problem, you only make it worse by writing a letter and drawing attension to it and showing your up-tightness with grades.....sorry about the spelling i'm really tired :)

thx for ur help guys. um, u make a good point about "bringing their attention" but i dunno. i dropped an entire letter grade. I think ill talk to my guidance counselor about this. THanks again for ur help.

Does your school send quarter grades? Unless you do trimesters, they probably only see final semester grades, so they will only see a B+ or A- for that class.

our school sends both quarter grades. but i think i decided not to send a letter, guidance thought that it'll show how obsessed i am about one little grade.

For the additional info question, I want to send add. info 2morrow by faxing to colleges. Do you know when they start to review applicants? if i send 2morrow, they'll probably look at em on monday. i dunno. OR i may not send info cause it might bug them? Thanks for any advice.
