Midyear Report and EA Acceptees

According to this page, "all applicants" must submit the online midyear report. I was aa little bitter upon reading this, having believed that my UChicago acceptance was final.

Then, I realized that EA acceptees are not technically applicants anymore.

Does anybody know the deal with the midyear report and acceptees?

Thanks,
Brinestorm

U of C reserves the right to withdraw its offer of admission if there are significant changes in the record. It says so right in the admission offer you got. It applies regardless EA or regular. It's probably has more affect on EA because we get accepted before the first term is over. But second semester can affect you, too.

In short, to maintain your excellent record, try not to drop any classes, and don't fail any classes. They will understand Bs and Cs and maybe even a D because it is our last year, and they know we don't study as much. That's just what I believe, though.

If you go on your uncommon application account, you'll note that in addition to "application fee submitted" and "preview submitted application," there is now a link "mid-year report," and they mention specifically that early applicants must fill it out. fortune4260 is right, so don't worry too much if your grades drop a bit. at least as you fill out the form, you don't have to worry whether they're going to accept you anyway! ; )

Thanks to both of you.

It's not so much that I fear my grades as much as I lament not yet being done with the application process. My first quarter grades are all above 90 and the average correlates with the overall GPA which UChicago saw on my transcript (tougher course schedule than last year, too); second quarter will be two or three points lower at most.

I just wish I'd be done with these damned formalities. I am already a UChicagoan--have been since birth! :D

I understand. The force can be unbearable....Can't we just go to college now?

you whiner! at least you are already in jeesh!

collegeconfusion: "you whiner! at least you are already in jeesh!"

Ha-ha, if you'd like to get into relative suffering, we could go all day until we get to the Asian tsunami victims.

You're right, though; I shouldn't even be complaining.

(I know we shouldn't be complaining, but I feel your pain too : ) )
