Midyear Report in quarters or just semester?

Does Harvard see both quarters or just the semester grade? I have 1 class where I have a 99 1st quarter but could, potentially, be an 89 in second quarter (depends on how well I do on the midterm). I hope they go by semester but I wanted to ask previous applicants on if they see the individual quarter grades?

If they do then I'm going to have to gauge how much time I put aside to studying, etc.

It is difficult to provide a clear answer since that is truly school specific. For instance, my school grades exclusively on quarters and does not combine the two quarters into a semester grade. Typically, the grades that you see on your transcript will be what a university views. If both the quarter grades appear on it, then prioritizing your study for that class may be in your best interests if you wish to raise your grade.

I hope this provided some degree of insight.

get a copy of your transcript and open it.

Transcript or report card? Transcript only has final grades.

I’m studying anyway. I’d rather be hanging out, playing games, etc. though. :frowning: Just 1 more test …

Ask your guidance department. You’re assuming that we anonymous people on the internet would know more about this than your own guidance dept./whoever does college stuff at your school.

I will. I just assumed the midyear report was standard for everyone (kind of like the common app is) and said something like this:

Class name:

Semester OR quarter grade:

Sorry about bothering everyone here, I’ll ask my school. Or, I probably won’t need to since I’ll get the midyear report soon anyway.
