midyear report, please help asap!

i have had straight A's first semester since i was freshman. and of course, i somehow ended up with a B in anatomy and a C in AP calculus bc for first semester.

calculus is what i'm worried about. i haven't ever had a C in my life. the class is like jibberish to me. i thought i would do fine, math has always been my strongest subject. but calculus goes straight over my head. i study like crazy and spend a good 2 to 3 hours on the homework every night. i still got a C.

i was deferred from Stanford SCEA, am applying for penn, brown, cornell, harvard, pepperdine, unc chapel hill, and others.

i was already a reach applicant, now are my chances completely ruined?

“i EARNED a B in anatomy and a C in AP calculus bc for first semester.”
Your not better than everyone else probably most but not everyone sorry thats life. :P

It will hurt at Stanford, Penn, Harvard, but not the others.

Your chances are not completely ruined, but first semester senior year grades are important. If you are an in-state applicant for UNC-Chapel Hill, then you should be fine since AP Calculus is a hard course. The “B” is fine other than evidencing a decline in grades when paired with the “C”. There simply is not enough info. on which to offer anything other than a bit of comforting advice such as try to bring both grades up.
