Whats the deal with the Midyear Report and how subjective is the admissions committee with their continued approval and deferrals? Also, how bad would your grades need to be to actually be deferred once accepted?

I heard that somewhere. A couple Bs are okay, but C-F

UH OH!

What about not getting the IB Diploma?

Sorry but I really don't understand most of what you are asking. Your use of the words approval and deferrals doesn't make sense -- sorry.

What I can say is that the Midyear Report definitely matters!!! Midyear grades are the most current evidence of a student's academic ability and can be the best predictor of a student's future success or failure in college. We pay A LOT of attention to midyear reports for RD applicants.

For ED applicants who have been admitted, the Midyear Report just like the Final transcript will matter. These documents will be used to review the student and make sure there has not been a serious downturn of academic performance.
