People, they're not going to hold you responsible for your high school's academic calendar or guidance office. They'll take it whenever it comes in.

Um, how important are midyear reports in an admission decision? My school kind of made a mistake on my report that messed up my GPA (A- instead of an A) but says that we don't need to resend it because they recalculate it anyway. I don't really trust her because sometimes I feel like she doesn't know much (I'm in an international school). So, any opinions?

Who recalculates what? Have them correct it; Columbia won't.

I meant that my counselor says that Columbia will recalculate the GPA in their own manner anyway, so the whole A- to an A thing won't matter. She said it's not a big deal. Is that true? If I do change it though, wouldn't my counselor have to fill out the midyear report again?

if guidance sends in the midyear report, I don't see why everyone is so worried. It's not like we can do anything about it. Just give guidance the form and envelope, and they'll deal with it. Considering that they've been doing this for years, I'm sure it'll be fine.

i wouldnt worry too much. my school doesn't even produce midyear reports... (they mention this as part of the school report they send in my application package)... and its never been a big problem in the past.

of course, if you can send one in do so. but, the point is you can only send them when they are out anyway. if this happens to make the feb 1st deadline fantastic, and if not, it is out of your control.

really, its not that big a deal.
