midyear report

my senior first semester grades are going to be quite a bit lower than my junior grades. i saw some people mention a letter of interest. how does that work and how much will that help?

I have the same problemm! Haha and question.

But the reason is because I’m doing IB which is just craaaazy. I go to a small school and while the teachers are really experienced and all, they’re still learning about IB with us.

The grading has been all messed up cause of that.

How do I explain that? :(

I’m pretty cool with every other component of my application though.

no clue… i think i’ll try to see if my counselor can write a note or something.

do you know when we have to send the midyear report by??

Have your school send it as soon as you have your grades. There is no hard deadlines because high school calendars vary wildly around the country, but I would imagine that sending it in March would not be good.

Anyone elseee? :)

I suppose there’s nothing to lose but I’m not sure if it will help

im also doing the IB and my grades were not really up to par this year but i didn’t send a letter of interest. and i got accepted

^^^confused56, did you send them those grades from this year though since you are already accepted. ED doesn’t see your grades from senior year unless your school specifically does that.

ED applicants have to submit first quarter grades from senior year IIRC.

Thanks for the info! I was confused on how it was done, my bad!

Also would like to point out that Duke does require a midyear and final senior year report even if applying for ED (not that it matters much for those accepted).
