Midyear Reports: How much of a factor?

How much, if at all, do midyear reports play in the admissions process for selective colleges? Could a stellar midyear report improve chances? Are midyear reports even looked at, or are they just to prevent senioritis?

Someone answer.

Midyear reports are included in the review!

^^yes, but how much of a factor is the question.

If your drop it is not a good sign!

If you apply to a top 25/50 school for regular decision…mid-year grade reports play a significant role I was told…

Because, they don’t really make a decision until you send those in really…they have until April/May or whenever. Now if you were accepted EA/ED…then they matter less, but if you get a C or something, you can definitely get your acceptance revoked.

So keep those grades up. And yes, senior year in my opinion is more difficult than junior year, but keep your head up, do your homework, and you will be fine!

I would like to know this too; I’m about to get a B/B- in AP English this marking period whereas I’ve had mostly A’s with a few A-'s throughout high school. Will it hurt a lot? I’ll have A’s in everything else right now.

At top colleges, the are generally only used to ensure those the plan to accept didn’t slip up.

What’s slip up?

Worse than Bs?

What if I’m taking 5 ap classes and one honors class senior year and i get 2 b+'s? would that really affect me when im applying to dartmouth, brown, uchicago, upenn, etc?
