MidYear Reports on the Common App?

it says they should be sent whenever the counselor gets the first semester/trimester grades in. is it okay if the counselor sends it in with a quarter grade (mid-semester) grade report instead because my schools counselors stop doing college stuff the day of the last finals, and i dont think theyll get it done and sent off on the last day of school. so is it okay if i dont have an updated class rank for first semester senior year? i dont want to have it end up that my counselor forgot to send them, seeing that ill miss a few deadlines if theyre sent right when school starts back up.

no one knows this? please.....someone.....

fine, new question: is the midyear report of the common app due with the rest of the application or can it be sent in by sometime in feb or something?

The mid-year report does not have to be sent with the rest of the common app. Usually you submit the common app on your own, and your guidance office sends the counselor form right away. They send the mid-year report as soon as your first semester grades are available.

To answer your first question, the individual schools usually decide. For example, Northeastern says on their website that you can send either first quarter or first semester senior grades, so I'm sure the midyear report could be sent after first quarter. Check with the schools your applying to.
