If I’m reading this right, MIT doesn’t want me to have my counselor send my mid-year transcripts to them yet, and just wants self-reported grades?
Also, if I think I have a good chance at doing something that might slightly boost my application in 2 weeks, should I hold off on submitting this?
I have the exact same question, because my counselor cannot find the section in his account to upload the transcripts?

Just send self reported grades. If you are accepted, you will be asked to send your official transcript with proof of graduation.
MIT trusts you to send in your semester grades accurately. You don’t need to send it in until February 15th, so there’s no need to submit it earlier - you may as well hold off. If you want to work on it now you can fill in as much as you want/can and then save it and finish it later.
