I am currently enrolled in a supplemental online high school program that has a transcript associated with the courses. I had the option to dual-enroll theses courses for credit at my local school, but my school would not allow me, so these courses do not count towards my home school GPA. Anyways, my home school midyear is looking fine, but for this online program there is currently a withdraw for one of the courses. I had overextended myself in the fall by trying to take three courses when traditionally, a student takes one class per semester through the program. In addition to that I was taking six AP classes at my home school, with one of the six being an online course. So basically I was dealing with a normal full AP load at my home school as well as one additional AP class online(through the state run online education platform) and three additional courses from this online program( one of which was an AP). I eventually got overwhelmed by the hectic scheduling, specifically due to marching band, and decided that it would be in the best interests of my health to drop the easiest course from my course load(basically an Honors level course). As of right now, I have contacted multiple admissions offices and they are saying that they do not require the midyear for this online program because it is not for credit, but if I want them to consider the courses and work I did, I should submit the mid year report for this online program. I really want to show colleges that I took high level courses on top of my traditional school load, but I am wondering if the one withdrawal will make the transcript appear negatively. In addition to that, there is also a B on the transcript for the AP class I took through this program. The rest of the grades are As though.
I was wondering what would be the most beneficial move for me to take in this situation. If I submit it, would there be any need to write a written letter explaining the circumstance or not, considering the program is just a supplemental addition to my course load, and it is not taken for credit.
For reference, I do have a few Ivy League schools, LACs, and private research universities on my college list.
*When I mean high level courses, I have taken courses such as bioinformatics and computational quantum chemistry.
Thanks
