It might still be a little early to pick a major.
For example, these are the math requirements for several science-y majors at my school:
Meteorology - calc 1-3, differential equations
Earth Sciences - calc 1-2
Environmental Systems Engineering - calc 1-2, matrices/calc 3, differential equations
Geobiology - calc 1-2
Environmental Science - calc 1-2
Biology - calc 1-2
Chemistry - calc 1-3, differential equations
You’re still in intermediate algebra – that’s at least three more semesters before you get to calc 1, right? So you can’t tell if any math-intensive majors would be good fits for you for a while yet. I’d see how future math classes go before deciding on a major/minor that requires lots of math.
^ He’s happy I’m not attending Penn State.
SuperGeo, you also haven’t taken Physics or chemistry. Why not take chemistry next semester?
Somehow, in a post making only one completely baseless assertion, you managed to get two things wrong.
I have no opinion on where you do or don’t transfer, and I’m not a guy.
Two semesters before I can take calculus since i’m retaking Intermediate algebra in the fall then taking college algebra and triginometry in the same semester unless you counted the summer session if i was taking one of the other math classes then or if you thought I had take precalculus too before calculus which fortunately I don’t need both college algebra and triginometry and calculus. I took integrated chemistry and physics in high school but plan to take chemistry once I have a better foundation in algebra. If I do decide STEM isn’t for me, what is else has application in the marketplace? I don’t wanna do healthcare or the trades because I don’t like people or physical labor.
There’s always liberal arts
@NASA2014 liberal arts is the least marketable and know as the area of study that one should not pursue because of it’s lack of application in the marketplace. It’s easy but because it is so easy it is not marketable and most things worth doing aren’t easy.
I made a mistake in post #84 when I said college algebra and Triginometry and calculus, I meant I don’t need college algebra, Triginometry, and pre-calculus before I can take calculus I.i just need college algebra and Triginometry before I can take Calculus I.
Your college doesn’t have Pre-calc.
college Algebra and Trigonometry are parts of Pre-calc
Well It’s weird, some schools require precalculus, college algebra, and Triginometry when only college algebra and Triginometry should be required before taking calculus I is why I was saying that.
So what are the prereqs for CALC 1?
Every school requires Pre-calc in order to take calc 1
So why did you get a D in Intermediate algebra? Did you put effort to it? Did you do problems on your own? Or did you just went to the lecture and took notes?
College algebra and Triginometry with Analytic Geometry. For brief calculus I which is the light version of calculus I think only college algebra is required before taking it.
@NASA2014 I had ammonia and had a family member pass away so I missed a lot of school. It was a really hard time.
@NASA2014 Are you wanting to know what I did when doing my work?
I’m sorry for your loss. Did you try to go to the library when doing work?
@NASA2014 there in the process of rennovating the library at my school so hopefully when I go back in the fall it’ll be done. hopefully I do better in all my future semesters of college. Nothing in life is promised.
Is it possible to get two minors?
Why were you always at 4:17 am? It’s possible
@NASA2014 why do you always have something to judge about? It’s none of your businesss why I was up at that time.
