Hi,

I am a senior who applied early to my dream school almost one month ago, a couple days before the November 1 deadline for early applications. I recently re-read my Common App, and noticed that on the AP score (self) reporting page, I had misread the instructions. I missed that bit about listing all the AP tests you were planning to take in the future, and I simply listed the scores of the tests that I had taken.

I know theoretically this shouldn't be a huge issue because reporting AP scores is technically optional anyway, but I also read that admissions officers will assume the worst (either that said student got a 1 or that the student was less motivated to put in the work) if they see that a student took AP classes but did not report AP scores for the corresponding tests. I am taking multiple AP classes this year, and I don't want to give off the impression that I won't be taking any of the AP tests for those classes. Hopefully they assume correctly that I made a mistake reading the instructions, and it doesn't go against me...

I'm just upset that I noticed this mistake late, two weeks before I hear back from the school... I'm planning to call the admissions office soon to maybe rectify the situation (even though I realize it might not make a difference since it's so late). Anyway, do you think this is the right plan for my situation? Also, how significant is this potential mistake?

Thank you
