Might you chance me?

At least, I was just wondering what the average GPA for acceptance is and such stuff like that, because I attend one of the top 5 public schools in the nation and everything is incredibly competitive, so I have a skewed view in terms of my chances for Wellesley...though I do realize that my GPA is rather poor /:

unweighted GPA 3.6
My school does not rank.

SAT1: 2250 (770 math 740 CR 740 writing)

SAT II
math IIC- 770
chemistry- 700
*taking literature in November

AP English Language- 5
AP Chemistry- 4
AP US History- 4

National Merit Semifinalist, pretty strong extracurriculars (all leadership positions), and two internships at a medical clinic and motel.

I'm hoping Wellesley puts a lot of weight on the Common App essay (do they?), because I've had mine read by some people and they tell me it's tolerably well, that it's original and written very well.

My main line of concern is my GPA, so if anyone could chance me I would be very grateful. Thank you!

sounds to me like you have an excellent chance (although you never quite know with Wells). I doubt that your GPA will be an issue. The only thing I’m wondering about is if your extracurrics show one or two passions–as in, they’re not all just random different clubs or organizations. Wellesley likes to see that.

Do you have any strange or quirky talents? That’s another thing that counts for a lot. I’ve met baton twirlers, hula dancers, ice skaters, laughing yoga instructors, et cetera here. It’s not going to hurt you if you don’t, but it definitely helps, especially if you can find a way to work it into your essay.
