I will soon be joining the California Army National Guard in November and am going to make a 6 year commitment. I will be going to a 10 week boot camp this summer and of course every month starting November on the weekend I’ll be training. Under which category of the extra curricular activities in the UC Application do I list this advent? Thank You :-h
Ummmmm … I’m going to go out on a limb here and say it goes under work experience.
Contrary to popular belief, the National Guard isn’t an “extracurricular activity.” It’s a job where you’re intended to know a very particular skill set that you’re required to stay tactically and technically proficient in and of which people’s lives may depend on.
