Many of the people I know are all about money and are pursuing careers that will land them a lot of cash. I don't exactly agree with this methodology, but it got me thinking. How do people like Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, and Donald Trump come to reach their multimillion/billion dollar earnings. If your quest is to earn a multimillion dollar salary, how do you set out to achieve it? Obviously this cannot be done with "normal" jobs like accounting, engineering, or medicine. How did these men become so wealthy and how are they different from us? Are they smarter, more driven, or simply lucky? I just don't understand how some of these people acquire their enormous salaries? Athletes and entertainers are the exception. Any input...

Innovation

Donald Trump- Buying and Selling real estate? Putting up hotels everywhere. The Hiltons already did it. No innovation there.

investment banking can land huge amounts of pay.

I don't think that they really set out to make millions.....it just happened. Like Donald Trump and real estate and Warren Buffet in investing. I think they both had ideas and started off small, and they ended up building their way up and making more and more money.

If you want to make money....do what they did. Invest in real estate and in the stock market. Both have written their own books, I never really read them but it might help. With real estate, I recommend that you start off with small cheap properties. But its important that you look at all aspects to make sure you would get a good profit. Things like is there development going to make the area nicer, is it in a good area, do you think you'll be able to turnover a good profit with minor fix ups. Things like that.

With investing, you want to look carefully at the stocks. Look at the trends and things and there is something about calculating the average price of the stock for the years. You buy when its a low.....but once you buy the stock you have to ignore it. It sounds a little stupid, but if the second the stock falls below what it was before and you decided to sell it, you will actually lose money this way and miss out on some possible good profits. People who invested in companies like Dell when they were selling at about a dollar a share are reaping some serious profits now.

The only way to become rich is to work for yourself. Sans the lottery, you will never become mega rich working for someone else. Do like Diana said, real estate, real estate, real estate. Then just keep buying more and more rental properties until you get into the commercial real estate area then just keep buying more properties until you become rich.

alot is also inheritance.. donald trump's father owned alot in manhattan and just passed it on to his son who expanded it further

didnt donald trump just file for bankrupcy? or was it his company? or was it both?

Become a quantitative trader. (aka Jim Simmons or Bill Dunn)

I'm glad the CC real estate moguls have blessed us with their one-step plan to become a multi-millionaire!

But in order to buy real estate in the first place, you must have wealth.

think out of the box and into the distant future

But in order to buy real estate in the first place, you must have wealth.
