Milton Academy

I'll be attending Milton Academy next fall. I wasn't able to go to the revisit days, so I was just wondering if anyone had information from the revisit days or advice for next year. I would also like to talk to some people going to Milton next year. Okay. Post away!

I don’t know much about Milton, but I just want to say GOOD LUCK!!

Hi @creamcheesecake and congratulations on your acceptance to Milton! We were at the 2nd boarding student revisit, which consisted of class visits for the kids, and presentations from faculty etc. for the parents. We also heard from the director of athletics and met coaches, visited dorms and learned a bit about how that all works, and then saw some really great performances. It was all very impressive, but I don’t think that you missed any pertinent information. Do you have any specific questions? Ultimately my daughter decided to go to Cate instead, but it was a very tough decision!

I’ve heard really excellent things about Milton, and it certainly seems to be a wonderful place and school. Though I don’t have any specific experience with Milton, revisit days tend to just be an exciting mix of class visits and panels. In my personal experience, most times the parents and children stick together for a continental breakfast or something along those lines with a few students, parents, and faculty as well as other accepted students before attending a student panel and opening remarks. There’s also usually a closing session with student performances and maybe a headmaster speech. I can’t think of anything you’d need as an incoming student that you would glean only from revisits, as they are originally designed for the purposes of helping those still undecided make their decisions. Until the school year begins, I’d spend time researching and talking to other students, getting to know the school. Good luck and congratulations!

I also went for a tour at Milton. The campus was gorgeous and the faculty and staff really made me feel welcome. To be frank, Milton was one of my top choices when I applied for boarding school. Their arts programs are extremely strong. You are extremely fortunate to have been accepted! I decided to go to SPS instead but it was a very difficult decision. Good luck with all your future endeavors!
