Milton Academy

we talked about alot of things, my interview went longer than 45 minutes.
she asked me alot of general questions at first and then she started asking me about my interests and how i could be an asset to the school and we talked about how many kids apply their junior year and why now, i think it went well
im just hoping that they want more sing and dance kids : )

what was your interview like?

it was good for a first time. i had no idea what to expect. bu mine only went on for about 30. It seemed like ten tough. It was good. basically, the whole general questions, talked a lot about my classes now.. my travels... reading... eh i cant really remember i was kinda nervous haha.
ooo i hope they like art/photography/writing kids.

mm, milton actually didnt go so good for me i dont think. it was my first interview (like last week or the week before when i flew over) and i was soo sleepy...tis the jetlag plus i was wearing this super short skirt when all the other kids were in pantsuits. >.< haha it was pretty awful in a funny kind of way. nonetheless i still plan to apply. good luck to everyone!! due monday idk... ;)
yeah, my interview was also reeally short. the lady didnt seem too reponse tho i dont think- i hope she wasnt thinking about how wrongly dressed i was... lol right after that my mom and i went to the nearest store and immediately bought a pair of nice, conservative wool pants.

oh also, to me, milton seems to have the most 'collegiate' look out of all the schools ive visited so far. anyone else think that? also, idk i felt the school has more waspy type ppl than others (haha but idk taft certainly takes the cake on that one!) like 3-5 girls wearing THE same burberry coat or whatever...

maybe ive just been reading too much vogue lately. loll

Haha yeah you will get the classic burberry trench coat at alot of well off private schools. It's usually just an old parents... (thats supposed to make you feel better since they didn't go specially buy it..but now I'm just realizing that the fact that the mom has more than one makes it even more crazy!)

really?
i thought there was a variety of people there.
yes, many preppy, but no one too flashy (with name brand clothing) or anything.
i actually really loved the school

lol...how short was it, sabre?

How did you possibly wear a short skirt in the winter weather, sabre?
I really liked my Milton interview. It's funny, because my first interview (Milton) was the best one I've had. I'm not going to try to figure out why.

was the campus impressive comparing to other schools? the website doesn't post much about the campus i dont think

I found the campus to be one of the prettiest, though the facilities were not quite as impressive as Andover or Exeter (Exeter has leg up, though, because of the whale :D).

i thought milton's theatre/art place was lacking, but then again they're building a new art wing.

im not applying to milton anymore!

why not blair?

Really? Why are you changing so late? Didn't you already send in the application fee and everything?

bcuz they STILL didnt send me any info.. i think theyre disorganized. and i dont like how many kids have been going since pre-k.. you know? idk. i think its a bit sheltered/clustered...and only 50% boarding!

They still haven't sent you anything? That's weird. I don't think it's because they're disorganized, because they sent me my stuff in August. I think that they must never have gotten your info, somehow.

Choate never sent me anything either...
thank god that it was a online app though. but i dont have the viewbook!

I got a letter from Milton back in September and someone else's letter was attached to it. I emailed the school, though, but they should try to make sure that they don't send two letters to one person and one is addressed to someone in Andover, MA.

ok- ive been thinking about not applying to milton. just because my interview went sort of bad and im not sure if they really accept that many juniors in proportion w/ the general student population. (ie like if i were applying to SPS or something where they only accpet maybe 8-10 ppl) but i liked the school tho- and plus they claim their acceptance rate is 28%, which makes me feel a whole lotta better than E/A.

...i have a lot against milton these days.

they're disorganized.
only 50% boarding!!! wyayy too low. way.
mediocre facilities.
nothing spectacular.
dont want to go to a P-12 school. not cool.

It's doubtful that you would be accepted. Milton is looking students who can think for themselves.
