Milton Revisittttt

Hahah so I went yesterday, and I LOVED it, regardless of the fact that it was raining and then it proceeded to POUR after 4:30 ish

If you any of you were there yesterday ( I did see two girls from CC :]), speak up!

I really really liked Milton.

Whooop

What exactly did you like about?
What activities did you do?

I’m going on Tuesday and I’m super excited (:

I’m likely going on tuesday, also. What did you guys do?

ooh!

i’m going tuesday as well! we were supposed to go friday, but there was lots of weather where we were…

this is gonna be so fun!

Hmmm well
It was actually quite well organized, and the only class I got to see was Physics, because it happened to be a double-period that day since they were doing this lab, and then my tour girl gave me to her friend to tour the rest of the campus since she was doing this research thing in History that was really boring…and they were just…researching…haha. So she didn’t want to have me sit through that, so I went with one of her friends who had a free period to go around the campus, and I went EVERYWHERE.

I saw all the buildings, except a few of the dorms, but I went into Robbins dorm.

They had a really cool arts presentation, and the people were really friendly. Like they all said hi when my friend introduced me. I noticed that basically everyone knew everyone, and the people at Milton actually said the 50/50 boarding/day was a plus, since the day students could actually take you OFF campus to Boston/their families, and you can go sleep over and get close to their families. Like supposedly the day students took the boarders to the city to only really cool places the local people knew about, and you don’t get cooped on campus 24/7.
And they also said the day students frequently stayed over on the weekends or in the boarder’s dorms, and they were almost always on campus.
Nobody thought that the 50/50 thing was a problem AT ALL, and no, it doesn’t ruin the “boarding experience” since there are still a couple hundred kids still on campus at night, and plus the day students stay pretty late usually anyway.

So for any of you CCers think Milton was “bad” because of the “50/50” ratio, think again, and honestly, it doesn’t make a huge difference.

Yeahhh the weather kind of sucked, but it was still a pretty campus, and the food isn’t half bad. I thought it would be, but it was pretty good.
Well at least that day it was pretty decent.

Ohhh
and some of the dorms are awesome:)
I visited this one loft dorm (two-story doubles dorm…TWO-STORY)…that’s HUGE.
They had a day bed downstairs, plus a table and their closets and whatnot, and then upstairs, they had 2 beds, and still plenty of space.
It was AHHMAZING

Hey!
Yeah im going on tuesday as well, so you basically go there, get a guide, and they show you around the campus?

Hahah yeahh
It’s pretty fun, and just wait and see:)

bummmmpppppppppppp

I went today and it was greatttt.

Are you going for sure? :]

We visited Milton yesterday and my daughter absolutely loved it. The campus exudes an old world charm and has great facilities. What struck us the most was how intellectual and vibrant the atmosphere is. Everyone seemed welcoming and personable. The proximity to Boston is a great plus as students routinely go to watch plays and musicals. Older students have the opportunity to participate in research projects at Harvard, MIT or other local colleges. There is a lot going on during the week ends. The campus does not empty out. One dorm parent said that from the 30 to 40 kids at a given dorm, around 3 to 5 leave for the week end. My D said that she was impressed by how smart and intellectual the kids were in the classes she visited. And finally, the diversity is really impressive. We met people from all over the US and places like Ghana, Kazakstan, Norway, and a Tibetan refuge from the Himalayas!

^Cool! I wanted to confirm that thing about researching with Harvard/MIT. When I expressed certain interests my interviewer told me they are trying to get something going with Harvard/MIT. Seems great, while I was not able to revisit I don’t think I have any doubts!

Im a sophmore repeat, im undecided roght now tho, prolly going to milton tho

I’m a sophomore repeat toooo

& yes, the Milton facilities are awesome, and the proximity to Boston is reaaaally convenient. (about a 10/15 min drive to airport!)

To me, the main thing to Boston is Harvard square and Harvard/MIT coop. That place is SO amazing, books… EVERYTHING… Cafes, freedom, coffee… whee… And Harvard! woot.

Hahhaha I’m assuming you love coffeee

It’s pretty good… Helps a lot… Anyway the best part is that we get to do research with Harvard/MIT!

wooo milton revisit was incredible
definitely going theree ! (:

Whooooooooooop:)
