What do you think?

Congratulations on two great choices. My S is at Choate so feel free to pm me if you have any questions and good luck in your decision!

Milton, Milton, Milton!

Haha, well, I’m probably biased since I’m accepted there. And I never applied to Choate.

But I adore Milton’s campus.

CHOOOOOATE. <3

Do it! I’ve PMed you.

I love Milton. I am even considering it over all the HADES schools (I got accepted to all so I am pretty excited)!

I LOVE Milton. Their campus is AMAZING. Of course debate is better at Hotchkiss.

Woo. :)

Principalviola,

I would like to know why you would consider Milton over the HADES schools? What is especially appealing to you about it? My D got into Milton but is wait listed at Andover and at SPS. I know that others on CC in the past have picked Milton over the HADES schools. Could you elaborate on what intrigues you about Milton? Thanks.

Both have great academics. Apparently Milton’s a tad bit artsy, too?

Milton has a high day (50%) students percentage, though. Not sure how that would affect BS experience…

I hear Milton is all writing intensive and focused more on the language/history/english than the math/science things.

Well I ruled out Milton after acceptance because it has no honors English or History… I thought that was odd. I know nothing about Choate though.

I had that same choice and I chose Choate. It has the same great big friendly community but being a first tier school it’s stronger in many ways.

Is Milton not first tier?

Everything is so easy when you fall in love with a school early and then get into it. If I were you I would talk to everyone hear who either loves milton or loves choate and figure out why. And go to re visits if you can.

Tier seems to have a very vague decisions, at all places BUT college confidential.

It seems to me as if those who can fall under that tab, as defined by the CC “tendencies”, would be…

HADES, Groton, Choate, Lawrenceville, Milton and a few others.

Just fish around the forums and you will see a clear “flavor”.

BTW: I do not support any of this “tier” idea, this is just what CC tends to lean towards.

Haha, obviously some very passionate people here. :D

I’ve never visited Milton or Choate, so I guess I’ll just wait til the revisit days to make a firm choice.

From what I hear, people seem to adore Choate (coughSAERcough) who like PMed me a novel on why she loves Choate.

But then again, people love Milton for its artsy-feel…

I honestly don’t know which school I’ll like better…

Revisit. You owe it to both these amazing schools!

Each have their own pros and cons.

i’m going to suggest a revisit, but in my opinion, go to milton!!!
(biased because i was accepted there, waitlisted at choate).

milton’s campus in my opinion is more beautiful, but i guess the campus’s looks don’t matter.
try and revisit!

^ Ahah yes, Milton does have a pretty campus!

But campus looks do matter, sort of!

I mean, what if you were at the ugliest school with the best academics. You’d be happy for a bit, but then whenever you step outside, you get all gloomy and depressed. And plus, you’d lose all inspiration if your campus sucked.

Milton Milton Milton!

Hahah yeahh I got accepted there too:)

So, add Milton and change it from HADES to either MASHED or SHAMED.

Of course since HADES was just invented at CC this year, HADES could also be the SHADE schools, which sounds less devilish anyway.

Or you could just look at the only 5 schools where over 30% go to the Ivy’s +Stamford/MIT, but then you only have St. Paul’s, Deerfield, Milton, Groton and Middlesex. You have to drop Andover and Exeter and we really need those Vowels to make up a name like either HADES or SHADE. So on reflection, maybe those schools are only good because they begin with a vowel (and they are Big).

Milton is a fine school (but I prefer St. Paul’s).

^ I remember people on here that were starting to call HADES schools HEADS schools. Much more fitting, huh? Since we are going to those schools for an education, with has to do with your brain, which resides in your head…

I wonder why HEADS never took?
