Mini fridge and microwave in the dorm?

Hey I just sent in my SIR to UCSC and put Cowell as my #1. Just wondering if students are allowed to have a mini fridge and microwave in the dorm? Are there plug-ins? Do people usually do that? Also, I'm a girl with A LOT of clothes. Like, TOO MUCH. Is there extra storage under the bed or something? I don't plan on bringing EVERYTHING but a girl has gotta keep her slug style.

Thanks!

This info might help you. It says micro ok and if you search You Tube you can find some videos of the dorms - I think I saw mini fridges.

I do not know of any of the 10 colleges that forbid either item. I know 100% for sure from experience that they are permitted at Porter (lived there two years) and 10 (lived there one summer). All colleges should have allowed and forbidden item lists on their individual websites.

At Porter and 10, the beds were lofted (could be lowered if desired). I had to use a folding step to get into bed as attempting to drag myself/hop in usually led to the mattress trying to slip up and bop me one (I’m a bit of a shorty). I was able to fit the supplied dresser under the bed due to the lofting.

I have not seen other dorms at the other colleges, but it is possible to loft a bed even if it isn’t designed to be lofted on its own. Check the rules at each college to know if self-lofting is allowed, though.

Microwaves and mini fridges are present in College 9 as well.
