I’m an incoming freshman and I’m gonna live in a double room in Cushing
My roommate and I decided to rent a fridge from that rackraiser.com place. Any thoughts?
We’re just worried there won’t be any place to put it.

Any tips, suggestions, past experiences really, just about anything will help at this point
If you lived in cushing, how was it?

oh and how’s the bed risers they sell in rackraiser.com? Is it sturdy and good quality stuff?

I don’t know anything about the site. You will have room for a minifridge.

You won’t need risers since you can change the height of your bed.

I guess I’ll list some random things you’ll want to know.

Hardey-Cushing is in a nice location on Newton campus. You’re in between the dorms, next to the church, and close to the dining hall. Unfortunately the lounges are the worst of the Newton dorms.

If you’re in the basement you’ll have tile floors. You’ll want to get something like a Swifer cleaner. The upper levels have carpet floor so you’ll want a vacuum cleaner. Since it looks like you’re traveling from very far away, you may want to coordinate with your roommate to see if they can bring some things or to buy them at the nearby CVS and Walgreens.

A hard plastic laundry basket will be useful. I like them better than the wire ones since the plastic ones won’t warp from being carried around.

You’re in walking distance of the shopping center and the Newton Center T stop (walking to the Newton Center stop is more convenient than taking two buses to the Reservoir stop).

Get a door stop.

I found instant stain remover useful. You can buy it at Walgreens and CVS.

Dealing with the bus is pretty annoying, especially on Sundays. Never be late for a bus. Also if you have early classes try to leave campus early. The buses become very crowded between 8:30-9:00 AM.

Bedrisers are not allowed, so don’t buy them
