Minimal Math in High School

Hey guys...thanks for reading this.

I'm a sophomore currently taking Advanced Algebra Honors (accelerated math for sophs) but I really hate it, as I do with all math courses.

My GPA is solid (3.86/4) class rank is good too (40/546) and I have a ton of ECs.

I really want to major in linguistics so I'm pretty sure that math won't really play a huge part in my career.
So, my problem is that would it hurt my chances of getting into NYU CAS if I only took three years of math (up to the Pre-Cal level)?

Should I take the fourth year of math, Calculus AP, and not do well (B or B-) or take other classes (including other APs) that I will excel in and would be more beneficial?

Thanks!
-Natalie

A "B" in AP Calculus is not bad at all. In fact, I'd go as far as saying that with the rigor associated with that course, a B is in fact good (not as good as an A, but better than not taking it at all). But if you really don't want to take it, don't.
