Minimum class rank for Harvard

Hey all,

I was wondering what the minimum class rank for an applying student is. In other words, is being the the 8th,9th,10th of a class of 400 still considered good?

it depends on your school. for example, a student coming out of an elite prep school who is accepted may not be ranked as high in his class as a student accepted who has attended a mainstream public high school.

if you are 8th in a class of 400, that puts you in the top 2%, which is pretty good. but honestly, class rank is not an entirely accurate tool in gauging the strength of an applicant--it is just one tool. a valedictorian who can't back up his class rank with strong sat scores and extracurriculars, etc is out of luck. :)

o I see. Thnx sunglasses

I got in and I was ranked 18 out of 288, so 8 in 400 shouldn't be a problem. And I didn't go to a private school.

what are your stats though?
