minimum Eligibility Index

hello I’m looking at applying at Cal Maritime and that will be connected to California State University. for their out of state eligibility index it is 842 my index is 812. does this indicate it is not possible for me to be accapted at all or will i still have a chance

to get my index I have a 21 ACT and a 3.01 gpa

3.01 X 200 + 10X21= 812

time is running low and there is much else I can do any suggestions?

If your OOS EI is below the minimum, yes that means you are not eligible to apply to any CSU and your application will not be considered. I suggest you try and raise your ACT by December. Also Cal Maritime is a unique CSU which is very specialized and may have higher requirements for their impacted majors.

“How are requirements different for residents outside California?”
The Minimum Eligibility Index for fall 2016 Marine Transportation applicants, Marine Engineering Technology applicants, Facilities Engineering Technology applicants, and Mechanical Engineering applicants will be higher than our other majors and determined based on the quantity and academic quality of the applicants.
Students applying to our majors in Business Administration-International Business and Logistics as well as Global Studies and Maritime Affairs will be admitted if they their eligibility index is at least 3,502 for the SAT index or at least 842 for ACT index.
SAT or ACT scores: All students should submit an SAT or ACT score. Marine Transportation, Marine Engineering Technology, Facilities Engineering Technology, and Mechanical Engineering applications will not be considered without a test score.

If you are under the index threshold, your application won’t be reviewed. I wouldn’t waste the fee.
