Hey guys, I know it looks like I’m trying to do the bare minimum to transfer but that’s not the case. I’m applying as a bio major. I’m carrying a 3.7 (and rising) with solid ec’s and whatnot so that’s not the issue. I was wondering if I should apply after 2 years, with the MINIMUM listed on the assist.org or apply after 3 years with everything on assist.org completed. I’ve been entertaining the idea of doubling in bio and spanish as well. I would have all of the MINIMUM classes needed to transfer completed by the Spring, with definite plans to crank out a few more over the summer. Would I still get TAP if i only did the minimum listed?
Thank you guys!
Also, i was told you can only attend the school for two years once you transfer, so would it benefit me to spend that third year at CC so that I don’t run the risk of completing everything in time?
Bio is a competitive major, so I would say apply with as much complete as you can. There is no rush, as UCs don’t care how many years one spends at CC.
That’s not true you’re only allowed two years at a UC (except for Haas, which does apply that rule).
There isn’t specifically a “2 year rule”, but there is a unit cap of 216. I know it’s 216 quarter units at UCLA, and I think that’s firvall UCs. Some majors have higher caps. The Blue and Gold Scholarship is only for 2 years, so if you plan on taking advantage of that, you only have 2 years for that.
^^^ very correct. There are potential financial aid impacts.
@2016Candles Is that 216 units solely at that institution or a combo of what I transferred with, and what I’ve got from UCLA?
@goalienerd95
It includes how many ever units they actually transfer from your CC which maxes out at 105 quarter units.
