I called NM yesterday to ask if there was a minimum SAT score, because my D has already taken it and scored decently enough to show the PSAT was no fluke, but not in the super-high range. The woman I spoke with was not very helpful and gave vague answers - however - she did finally tell me that last year they were looking for 1300 CR+M, plus at least 51/80 on the W raw subscore. So they don't count the essay. She would NOT tell me the score they were going to look for this year, except to say that it might be higher than 1300 CR+M.

Bumping this post.

same concern here! i did really well on the PSAT but sucked on my SAT for some reason. retaking in November.

I'd suggest you try calling NM back--sometimes you get different folks who answer the phone & some are more helpful than others (just like most call centers & other customer service places). The GC at your child's HS might also be able to provide more guidance, particularly if there are historically many NMFs from your HS.

I'm new. What is bumping?

Everytime you make a post, the thread is "bumped" to the top of the message board, thus keeping it in optimum visibility at the top of the list.
