Minnesota girl and housing

My daughter has been accepted at Auburn and we are visiting in late February. Also visiting South Carolina, UGA, and Alabama. Any thoughts on a northern girl fitting in and most importantly, will it be too late to secure housing at Auburn after we visit?

Northernmom,

I can’t comment about Auburn as we have not visited yet. However, Bama has lots of out of state students. I don’t think fitting in there would be a problem.

We are visiting South Carolina and Auburn in March. I hope you post your impressions of the other schools since you will be visiting sooner.

Auburn has lots of OOS students but don’t offer the very large merit scholarships that draw the numbers that Alabama does. Regardless, there are many OOS studdents that turned down those BAMA scholarships to attend Auburn. I think Auburn is about 37% OOS and US is over 50 or 60% - don’t have access to the numbers at the moment but you can google them. Fitting in at either place will not be a problem - and OOS is from all over US not just GA and MS
