hello im kinda up in the air on which one i should pick. anyone have any experiences with either of these schools or at least know something about them. what are the academic/program strengths of each? i can pay in-state tuition on either of them because of an agreement between wisconsin and minnesota. any advice will help. thanks for your time.
Which Minnesota State university are you talking about?
What environment do you like? What are your stats (GPA, test scores, APs if any)?
Do you have an idea of what you’d like to major in?
Did you get into the Honors College at either one?
I know from direct contact that UW Milwaukee has really updated their Frosh/Incoming student programs, and they are making a big effort to help kids enjoy and maximize their experience. This can be huge to a new student - and sometimes the extra effort of the school can make a very positive impact on how you or new students view their life.
The other benefit of UWM is the M… Milwaukee is a great vibrant city - I have heard it called a “Clean Chicago”. Lots going on - and I don’t think the Minn experience is quite the same.
If you need or want more details you can PM me, and maybe I can direct you to a source, although the UWM website is pretty helpful.
im talking about the mankato one. i like an urban or suburban environment thats progressive. i also like nature. my stats are a GPA of 2.697 an act score of 21 and i havent taken any ap classes. for majors i am considering anthropology philosophy or dance. and no im not honors material.
Which one costs less?
well technically mankato costs less. if i apply for reciprocity i will be paying the same as an instate person would.
i still would like to know what are the program strengths of each?
Program strengths & weakness - Google is your friend… but I’m guessing that you can get out of each school what you put into it. Step 1 might be searching each schools website for the majors you indicated that you are interested in.
