Minor in Accounting vs Mathematics?

Currently a business economics major. I heard having a math minor is better than accounting since it's more quantitative. However, it's more theoretical and less "practical." I'm not exactly sure what I want to do in the future though. Something in finance or accounting. Any suggestions?

You could always concentrate on doing more applied math courses instead of proof-based theoretical ones.

If you want to do accounting, then obviously go for the accounting minor. I’m also a UCLA student and generally speaking, the big4 accounting firms like to see you have the minor or see that you are taking the classes required to take the CPA.

In this economic climate, its good to have a backup of accounting. Yeah, they layoff too, but they are still hiring a fair amount.
