Minor in Architecture

Hello. For those of you that have received a minor in Architecture at Southwestern, do you know how many years it takes to get a Masters in Architecture (in order to obtain a license as an Architect)? Thank you!

Southwestern does not have a graduate school. You could google UT or Texas A&M or other universities in Texas to see what the grad school requirements are for architecture.

Thank you for your reply. I am sorry my question wasn’t specific. In order to obtain a license as an Architect you have to go to grad school for 3 years after obtaining an undergraduate degree. In Southwesterns case they have a minor in Arch and I was wondering if the grad school is only 2 years instead of 3. Thanks!

Oh, okay, I see. I think the answer is “maybe”. Look at this sentence:

“In architecture, students will normally apply to three and a half year First Degree Master of Architecture programs and have often been given some advance standing based on credit for courses at Southwestern.”

I found that on this page on Southwestern’s website:
[Southwestern University: Art & Art History: Architecture & Design Program](http://www.southwestern.edu/departments/art/architecture.php)

So, it looks like you might be able to get some graduate school credits for work at Southwestern, but nothing definite.

In Texas, there is a state agency called the Texas Department of Architectural Examiners that handles the examination and licensing of architects; their website may have some info too.

Thank you so much! This is great news. I’m impressed you found that too! :)
