is it worth it to minor in computer science if i major in mechanical engineering? does it stand out significantly in my job interviews?

Many of the internships I've applied for (chemical engineering) required tons of programming despite being a chemical engineer major. I would say yes, a computer science minor would help you tons in finding a job or an internship.

seconded. computer science is an important skill, it's more than just the title of having a minor

i'm sure I read somewhere recently that there are very many current job opportunities for computer science graduates, but not enough graduates to fill them. So who knows, maybe having a minor just might be enough if you want to get into that area for jobs.

not always necessary for the job(s). Unless you want to be a code warrior.

thanks for your reply guys! my school website said that you could go to grad school in comp sci even if you minor in it...and i definitely want to do some coding rather than be a mechanical engineer for the long run
