Hey everyone. I posted this same thread on the Engineering forum but it seems that not that many students visit that forum. So I'll try my luck here....

I'll be attending UC Berkeley this upcoming Fall as a double major in engineering. My double major is Chemical Engineering / Nuclear Engineering. I wanted to pursue this double because I wanted to get knowledge on how to produce electricity through nuclear fission/fusion reactions. However, when I went to my orientation, I found out my obtaining the College of Engineering Announcement that there is a double major in EECS/NE which is Electrical Engineering and Computer Science / Nuclear Engineering.

Anyways, the faculty won't let me change my major so I was considering a minor in EECS. Does anyone know what the benefits of a minor in engineering would be? Is the EECS Minor indicated on your bachelors degree? Would I be able to go to grad school as an EECS major even though I do not hold a bachelors degree in EECS. I am also considering the overload that I'll be taking because the ChemE/NE curriculum is very fixed and does not allow that many "outside courses". Thanks in advance!!
