Minor mistake in UC application

Hi guys,

I just reckognized the following mistake in my application :
I chose Undecided in Letter and Sciences as a major, however in my personal statement I mention ECONOMICS as my major. I wrote something like : I am looking forward to face the challenges of economics. I cannot remember the exact sentence right now, but it was similar to that sentence.
Should I now change my major to Economics in order to kind of "complete" the application ? I dont know in what way this mistake decreases my chances ?
What do you think ?

kind regards

*recognized. Also, yes you should change your major. Don’t apply for a major that you’re not interested in because there may be a chance that you can’t change it. I believe you can call into the UCs you applied to, to change your major.

No, I think you missunderstood ! I really dont know at the moment what major to choose ( as a matter of fact itll be a major in letter and science ). I simply put economics in the personal statement as a kind of place holder, because that was my initial coice. Unfortunately I forgot to change it ere I submitted the application. I just wonder how severe this mistake is.

I think the mistake in your essay is mitigated by you being undecided. Since you’re not yet sure what you’re majoring in, they might just take that as one of the things you’re considering.

I don’t think it’s a big deal. It might look a bit odd, but I doubt it’d be enough to warrant a rejection where you’d otherwise be accepted.
