Minor on another campus?

Is it not just theoretically possible, but realistically possible to fulfill a 5 course minor at another of the 5Cs while at Amherst? I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who has actually done something like this. If it is possible it would make Amherst an even greater interest since I do have an interest that is not taught at Amherst.

Thanks

I got off the phone with Amherst Admissions not too long ago. I had a similar question about majoring at one of the other schools in the Consortium.
The lady told me that although I cannot declare a major outside of Amherst, I can definitely take the food science courses that I am interested in. You are allowed to take 14 of the 32 classes required to graduate at another campus.
I’m not sure if you already know this (since you distinguished theoretically possible and realistically possible) but I hope this helps!

I’m not sure if the minor could show up on your transcript/degree from Amherst if you complete minor requirements at another college. That would probably be a question for the Registrar.

If, in fact, having Amherst officially recognize your “minor” is not possible, the certificates are a great alternative if they fall within your interests. Five College Programs & Information | Academics | Amherst College;
