I know, everyone is probably sick of "is my schedule OK" questions, but...

I am a transfer student. My intended major is geography, and I am interested in doing a minor in city & regional planning. At least four of the classes in Geography and City/Regional Planning are cross-listed. How many of those classes can I use for both the major and the minor? I've overheard it is only 1...

That said, I have also heard it is best to have only 13 or 14 units in the first semester (as a transfer or incoming freshman), but that would seem to cause me to either have to really load up one future semester or take summer classes. Does this schedule seem do-able?

Astron C10 w/ Filippenko (4)
Geog 159AC "The Southern Border" w/ Manz (4)
Geog 183 "Cartographic Representation" w/ Jensen (4)
CY113A "Econ. Analysis for Planning" w/ The Staff (3)
Anthro 24 "On the Same Page" seminar (1)

That would give me a total of 16 units. Geog 183 is a cartography class which meets for 3 hours on Mon & Wed, and I've heard it can be time consuming. I want to keep Astron C10 because I really like astronomy and I really want that "I'm at Cal, woohoo, what a ride!" experience. If I have to give up any class, I would give up the Econ Analysis class. Muchas gracias por sus opiniones!

All incoming transfer students got the same DVDs for "On the Same Page" that freshmen got. I guess I'll have to ask some questions about which classes we are able to take in regards to these DVDs.

Yes, I found out that there was a glitch in the system and I shouldn't have been able to add Anthro 24. I'm stuck with either taking a full class or attending a one-time discussion for the L&S "On the Same Page" thing.

So, here is my schedule, which I think should be do-able:

I'm thinking of swapping CY113A for Stats 2 (with D'Abrera) instead. Would Stats 2 be too much with the cartography and astronomy courses? Unfortunately, for the city & regional planning minor, I still have some pre-reqs to do...

Still would like to know how many cross-listed classes I can apply to both the major and minor, if anyone knows.

Finally, how many work hours are too many when taking 16 units? I'm hoping to be able to work 10 hours a week at minimum. This wouldn't be work-study, since I don't qualify for that. (I'm used to working 40 hours/week while taking 6-9 semester units at a community college.)
