Minor Question

Well it's actually a question about minors (of the academic variety) rather than this question being trivial, but I'm going to stop being a smartarse.

I'm applying to Cal's College of Chem from a local HS (where like 200 kids get in every year, we're also about an hour away and filled with study-obsessed asian nerds, go figure). My friend in CoC pointed me to the right direction for figuring out what classes I need to take and what AP tests I can get credit for, but one question I had was that I noticed I had the possibility of doing a minor in Physics to go along with my BS in chem.

Would a hopeful applicant to law school have any use for a minor in Physics, or is it better to reduce my courseload and aim for a higher GPA? From what my friend's told me CoC is a pretty difficult college in its own right and I will have to deal with LSATs and work experience.

Thanks!

You should try the classes for the minor in the beginning and see if you can handle it. worse comes to worse, you can drop without a penalty. It DOES look good if you have diverse interests but if it means you are getting enough good grades for your major, then i would leave it off. you can take a few classes for fun too. i found that i have a lot of time but i’m only taking 13 units right now.
