minor vs relevant coursework

just want to hear what the debate is on this topic. minors seem to get bashed a lot on CC as not being worth it and not useful. an alternative is usually just taking relevant coursework and pointing it out to an employer if it truly is coursework that is relevant/ makes you more desirable as an employee.

idk, both seem totally useless to me, but as i plan out my next few semesters, a minor seems like something i'd be interested in pursuing. but then again... eh...

I would like to bump this thread because I’ve been curious about this exact question for a while. Originally I was planning on doing an English minor, but many people have said that minors have no merit when finding a job.

On the other hand, others on this forum have advocated for coursework, but it seems like adding coursework is excessive and might get your resume looked over. Would employers prefer (even slightly) coursework or minor degrees?

For example, if I wanted to work for a company the only job I could possibly get with a psychology degree would be in HR. Would I be a better candidate with a minor or with coursework in business and economics?
