Hi.
I am a junior right now.
I want to major in premed or biochemistry b/c i want to become a doctor.
I also like to play the violin. I am not good enough or motivated enough to make a living out of it, so I would like to minor in music.

How do I have a minor and do I get some sort of recognition for taking all these classes?

Thanks ^^

are you a junior in college or in high school?

You would go to the office of where the music department is located, and tell them that you want to declare a minor. Or you could meet with an advisor; we have mandatory advising sessions towards the end of every semester at my school.

Why do you feel the need to minor at all?
If you like to play violin, just play the violin. Take whatever music classes interest you. There’s no need to do a minor.

Many colleges don’t even list minors on your diploma. Medical schools don’t care about minors. If you want recognition, your parents will probably be proud of you or something, but other than that, it doesn’t really make a difference.

That said, if you really want to minor in it and would like to take the required classes for a minor, go ahead and do it.

im a junior in HS
thanks for all ur answers it clarified lots of things for me
