Minoring in Revelle..?

Revelle requires students to have a minor or "noncontiguous area of focus"...

I want to major in Electrical Engineering and minor in Computer Science.

However, it states we can't minor in the same field (science) and plus I don't even think CS is even an offered minor?

Can anyone clear up minoring in Revelle for me? And how hard is it? Because apparently most engineers are in Muir and Revelle's requirements makes it tough to minor.

results of googling “ucsd computer science minor” =
[UCSD Department of Computer Science and Engineering: Minor in Computer Science](<a href=“Home | Computer Science”>Home | Computer Science)

the general postgraduate consensus is that minors are worthless, so i wouldn’t be especially worried. it might be beneficial to take specific CS courses to supplement your coursework as an EE major, but having a minor alone doesn’t really make you a better candidate for grad school or jobs. in fact, i’ve never seen an application that even has room for you to fill in your minor.

as for the revelle requirements, you CAN minor in CS if you so choose, but you can’t use this minor to fulfill the area of focus GE requirement. does that make sense?
