I would email "nikki"...damn rosh your starting to **** me off. I got a letter ok, what are you going to do about it, nothing, thats right there is nothing you can do cause your a little piece of

I’m bringing this thread up!!!

I think these letters will start surfacing sometimes this week, or nxt week!!!

So these are letters specifically for minority students? I’m going to get one tomorrow! haha…

nothing yet…

I did a google search (which is what I did last year) and found this…

“You’re Invited to the 2009 Black Student Alliance Invitational! Duke University, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and Duke’s Black Student Alliance …”

cached on 2/18/2009

Link takes me to duke.edu, but requires some sort of sign in on the “D” page. This probably doesn’t help… but maybe soon!

It’s only for African (American) applicants? Ah, how exclusive! haha.

i just got an email inviting me to the latino student recruitment weekend 2009. i got invited to mosaic minority weekend at vandy and in that letter it said i got accepted but in my email it never says accepted. should i think of this invitation as a likely letter?

letter starts off like this:

"Dear Prospective Blue Devil:

Greetings from Duke University! In recognition of your strong academic and extracurricular accomplishments, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the entire Duke community are thrilled to invite you to the annual Latino Student Recruitment Weekend (LSRW), being held from March 26-29, 2009. During LSRW, you will join outstanding Latino students from around the country and the world in an exploration of the amazing community that our talented and eclectic students have built over generations…

i also got the email for the latino thing and the thing for vandy lol. i really do hope this is a likely letter thing. it would make my week thing!

My son also got one. If you look at the attached brochure and read the frequently asked questions it basically says you are admitted unless you do something or have done something since you turned in your application to mess it up.

I also received an e-mail inviting me to the Latino Student Recruitment Weekend 2009.

This is a likely letter as long as “Something happens or [Duke] receive new information between the time we mail our invitation and the time we finalize admissions decision, and we find we can’t admit someone we’ve invited. But that’s very rare. Your chances of being admitted are excellent.”!!!

:)

I also got a Dartmouth Likely Letter!

Is this just for Hispanic and African American applicants or could I possibly get one for, say, being Native American?

They’d probably call you on the phone! (joking…)

i didnt get a letter but it said i should receive one shortly

yea hopefully the letter will come in the mail soon.

“They’d probably call you on the phone! (joking…)”

Lol, is this alluding to the low amounts of Natives applying to Duke or what? I obviously know you are joking, but…:).
