<p>How much weight does being a minority, such as an african american or Mexican american, have on applications for schools like Brown, Northwestern, UPenn, etc....</p>
<p>Before everything else, do you have good enough GPA,SAT/ACT. AP and anything else for all those schools?</p>
<p>It might play a positive, but minor role for you, unless you are applying for schools like CSU, UC schools(since they shouldn’t consider race as a part of admission factors)</p>
<p>For example, if you are competing with a person A, who has similar socioeconomic status except race like East Asian or Caucasian, you have a better chance because the colleges would want more diversity. </p>
