What is the difference between minors, concentrations and certificates?
A minor is an additional program you can study to supplement your education, and the required coursework is significantly less than requirements for a major in that field. With the exception of pursuing your interests and maybe gaining more practical skills if you choose math, com sci, etc, a minor doesn’t really matter and employers don’t care what you minored in. A concentration is more to do with your major. If you go to a business school, your concentration is your major such as accounting, management, finance, etc.
^Sums up minors and concentrations. Not all schools offer certificates. Sometimes, a certificate has to do with skill. For example a certificate of proficiency with microsoft office or turbotax.
