minors

im still thinking about what to minor in but i only have a couple ideas. nothing too substantial, just very vague ideas and nothing really grounded yet, u know? for now i'm thinking linguistics or language, culture and interaction.

how should i approach the situation? take a couple intro classes in ling, start on some prerqs for LCI? fiat luxes?

upperclassmen, help me outtt. just thinking about the future, is all.

Ever consider a global studies minor?

Search for GEs that interest you rather than using a particular GE that exists as your last resort after your psych-centered course of study? Sit in on random lectures that you think sound cool and look at their syllabuses/syllabi? Read random topics and random books and find correlations with specific courses and later, areas of study although you'll probably have to go through a lot of *****work before getting to where you actually want? Become aware of the amount of units you're going to need to satisfy all of your university/college/departmental requirements and then see how many gambles you can take with random classes that count for essentially nothing but merely satisfying any academic/intellectual (I hate the second word) interests? Taking a glance at any of the psycho-linguistics combinations/majors (help me out Liyana because I do not want to search for it right now) and see if they have any overlapping courses that are more of the latter persuasion? Consult a psych counselor and ask him/her about popular combinations involving the psych major in regards to either a double-major or an additional minor? Go to the bookstore and scan every single title in the non-fiction section and read the back and laugh and look them up on Amazon for future reference? Read Wikipedia? Most seriously - CIS STUDY AREA UCLA (look up these words in Google) and look up the available minors and see if they're not too hard to tack on to your overall course loads... and how nicely they would complement your major or satisfy any of your interests.

I am not an upperclassman... just a pathetic, lower-division taking sophomore with some direction but not complete in her life.

haha, no worries emmeline, so am i. good to have any help--definitely. direction is (at times) hard to come by--thanks for the various suggestions (: i was just wondering if the upperclassmen had any input as to "what they wish they had done" when they were younger and still wondering bout minors, but what you've told me should help out a lot.

ohhhh life.

jyancy,yes. don't think i'm interested though.
